The Baseline: For a Burger-joint the burgers, fries, and drinks are prepared well, done with properly applied ingredients that should taste good, and any unique offerings should not take away from the basis of the burger itself. The Apple Pan exceeds the baseline. Food: I had the Grapow Smash (double patty) with shoestring fries and a Thai Iced Tea shake. The burger was excellent with a crusty fried coating you expect from a smash burger. It had some spicy elements which made it very good with the runny egg. The fries I will skip. They were cooked but weren't very tasty as it felt too oily. I will probably try the sweet potato fries next time. The Thai Iced Tea shake was awesome and there were little bits of coconut in the mix. It is a must try. Service: Straight forward service which is friendly and on-point taking your order and delivering your food. Ambiance: This is a fun fusion Thai-burger stand on Sawtelle. The inside is decorated but mostly no frills hamburger stand. Comfortable seating set up to enjoy your food but not comfortable enough to hang out long term. There is an outside patio seating for eating outside while nice west side weather makes it enjoyable.

Can't believe I forgot to write my review. We ate here in mid February and had a nice lunch. I had the Waygu Laab Smash burger and really enjoyed the taste with it's different seasonings. After having so many burgers with the traditional condiments this was a nice change. The only thing I would do different is I would order a double instead of the single pattie I ordered. The shoestring fries were also seasoned well and are a must have. We sat outside since they have a covered patio area since the inside is small as most places in the area are. Parking is on the street but the day I went it was no problem. Finally the staff was friendly and got our order done quickly and accurately. I would definitely come back and maybe give the Chili Jam Smash a try

Not to be dramatic or anything but I ascend to a higher plane of existence every time I bite into anything made from here. I've been coming to this fusion burger joint by Tuk Tuk Thai since last year--so yes this review is way overdue--but I was reminded tonight why Ban Ban Burger deserves all the recognition it gets. I seriously consider this place as my top burger pick in LA. To start off, this small hole in the wall is laid back, inviting, and hard to miss with its colorful exterior. Next, the food: transcendent (pictures don't do them justice). Trust that whatever you order is going to be 10000% worth it, but definitely go for the wagyu laab smash burger; it's seasoned to perfection with lime and chili flakes, PACKED with bold flavors that are tastefully balanced with mint and herb and white aioli sauces, between a soft bun (altho I got mine w/o cheese). In the past, I've also ordered shoestring fries with curry ketchup which was great, but this time I opted to try their papaya fries with a thai dipping sauce and it was BOMBBB. My friends have also expressed loving the infamous grapow smash burger and the pandan shake. I tell you, there's no burger joint like this place. Staff are very welcoming and diligent. Food always comes out quickly whether I order in-person or online (you can earn points through their website as well as doordash)! This is located right on Sawtelle, so you're looking at metered street parking as your primary option. Come here. You'll be obsessed.

Tried the grapow smash, wagyu laab smash, and the panang chicken sando. Both smash burgers honestly tasted pretty similar but the wagyu laab smash was our favorite of the two because of their herb sauce. Super juicy patties. The panang chicken sando was huge and is good for two tbh. We meant to order the fries but accidentally got this but we were happy to try it. Equally juicy chicken in an addicting curry sauce. Totally get the hype around this place. Limited seating and street parking. Food comes out quick. Funny story: when we came in on NYE a unhoused person aggressively demanded that someone in the restaurant order him a burger and the staff graciously handled the situation and got him to leave.

Found this place on yelp and was intrigued by the menu and pictures. Definitely over delivered! There was no line and the place was kind of empty for a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the Grapow Smash Burger, Laab Burger, Shoestring Fries, and a Thai Tea Shake. My grapow burger was sooo good. Fried egg was perfect--oozed but didn't make a mess. The sauce and thai pickles really change the whole flavor of the burger making it super unique. Thai tea shake was 10/10. One thing I'll say is that it's pretty pricey for a burger place. $50 for 2. Probably standard for the area. Still, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great new burger spot.

Such a cute burger place! And the food is amazing- never had a Thai smash burger before and it was so flavorful! The laab fries too! Also ordered the Thai tea slush- soo good too! These are must orders for your first time. There's seating inside as well as on the patio. I ordered ahead of time online and picked up within 15 mins - it can take a while if you don't order ahead and there's a crowd.

Smash Like No Other! A flavorful, uniquely explosive smash burger right off the 405, Santa Monica exit. Los Angeles has plenty of tasty smash burgers, offering various bun-to-beef ratios, an array of pickles, tomatoes, cheeses, and more. But none bring Thai flavors into the mix like this spot does, elevating a crispy, juicy beef exterior with soft buns, Thai pickles, and bold dressings. Hands down, the Wagyu Laab Smash--featuring onions, laab powder, mint, and herb sauce on a potato roll--was the most unique and flavorful burger we've had. The Panang Grilled Chicken Sando was another standout--crispy, juicy, and absolutely delicious. An extra side of Panang sauce would make it even better. Don't skip the fries! We tried both the Shoestring Fries and Panang Fries, and they were spectacular. The Shoestring Fries, dusted with zesty laab powder, were perfectly crispy and addictive. But the Panang Fries were a full meal on their own--creamy, zesty, and loaded with a smash patty, herbs, chili, cheese, and a generous drizzle of Panang sauce. Best of all, they serve Thai beer! This cute little hut on Sawtelle's restaurant row with friendly service is an absolute must-try.
